EDUCAREER
There are many ways we can define Education, It is a process of inviting truth and possibility, of encouraging and giving time to discovery. Education is the wise, hopeful and respectful cultivation of learning undertaken in the belief that all should have the chance to share in life.
Education is an extremely complex art. When talking about education people often confuse it with schooling. Many think of places like schools or colleges when seeing or hearing the word. They might also look to particular jobs like teacher or tutor. The problem with this is that while looking to help people learn, the way a lot of schools and teachers operate is not necessarily something we can properly call education.
Education is a process of inviting truth and possibility , of encouraging and giving time to discovery. It is, as John Dewey (1916) put it, a social process – ‘a process of living and not a preparation for future living’. In this view educators look to act with people rather on them. Their task is to educe, to bring out or develop potential. Such education is:
- Deliberate and hopeful. It is learning we set out to make happen in the belief that people can ‘be more’;
- Informed, respectful and wise. A process of inviting truth and possibility.
- Grounded in a desire that at all may flourish and share in life. It is a cooperative and inclusive activity that looks to help people to live their lives as well as they can.
Skill Development
Skill development is the process of identifying your skill gaps, and developing and honing these skills. It is important because your skills determine your ability to execute your plans with success. In goal achievement, your skills are your tools. The house is your goal.
In India, there are a variety of skill development models – government-funded programmes that fully or partially subsidize training/apprenticeships, market-led trainings (where trainees pay for the course), market-led apprenticeships and industry-led/on-the-job training.
But during this pandemic everything depends online. Educareer provides skill development programmes too where a person can learn about their skills and improves it.
Why is it important?
Learning a new skill will broaden the opportunities, at the same time empower one as an individual. Skill training not only provides skills in a particular area, but trains students to build and enhance networking, time management, communication skills.
Skills can be classified into three main types:
- Transferable/Functional
- Personal Traits/Attitudes
- Knowledge-based.
Soft Skills
Soft skills are character traits and interpersonal skills that characterize a person's relationships with other people. In the workplace, soft skills are considered to be a complement to hard skills, which refer to a person's knowledge and occupational skills.
Some of the other most sought-after soft skills include:
- Effective communication skills.
- Teamwork.
- Dependability.
- Adaptability.
- Conflict resolution.
- Flexibility.
- Leadership.
- Problem-solving.
Educareer provides a package of education, skill development programme and soft skills programme where a student can learn things in a better and easy way during this pandemic situation.
